CLASS CHARITIES
Each of our classes has carefully selected a charitable cause that is close to their hearts, demonstrating the compassionate spirit that lies at the core of our school's values.
The children have chosen charities that reflect their understanding of important social issues and their desire to make a meaningful difference in the world. These charitable selections represent more than just fundraising; they are an opportunity for our pupils to learn about empathy, social responsibility, and the power of collective action.
Throughout the coming year, our classes will be organising various fundraising activities to support their chosen charities. These efforts will not only raise vital funds but also provide valuable learning experiences for our pupils. They will develop skills in teamwork, planning, and communication while understanding the importance of supporting those in need.
Reception/Year 1: Barnardo’s

Year 4/5: Age Concern
Year 5/6: Young Carers
2025 - 2026
Our Reception and Year 1 pupils are baking delicious biscuits to show their appreciation to the workers from Barnardos who visit our school. It is heartwarming to see such young children understanding the importance of saying thank you to those who support them. Year 4 and 5 have organised a morning tea for Age Concern, complete with games and shared snacks. This is a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to spend time with older members of our community and to learn the value of intergenerational connection. Year 5 and 6 are hosting an afternoon tea for Young Carers, providing a chance for these young people to be celebrated and appreciated for the important work they do in their families and communities. Our Year 3 and 4 pupils are holding a cake sale in support of Ronald McDonald House, combining their love of baking with their desire to help families facing challenging circumstances. Finally, Year 1 and 2 are sending something special to the patients at Derien House, with the aim of bringing smiles to their faces during their time there. These initiatives demonstrate the compassion and care that sits at the heart of St. Wulstan's. Our pupils are learning that making a difference does not always require grand gestures—sometimes it is the simple acts of kindness, a homemade biscuit, a game shared over tea, or a thoughtful gift that means the most.
